We would like to acknowledge the 2017 Festival major sponsors:
State Government (Department of Premier and Cabinet)
Located on the Derwent Estuary in Hobart, we’ve been part of the community for almost 100 years. We are one of the world’s largest zinc smelters in terms of production volume, with a capacity of 280,000 tonnes of market metal annually. Our high value added products are exported to the growing markets in Asia.
We employ approximately 600 people (both direct and contract employees) and continue to be a major contributor to Tasmania’s economy, representing around 25% of the state’s total exports.
The Culture at Nyrstar Hobart centres on safety, pride and innovation – a strong theme since its inception in 1917. With competitive energy prices key to luring major economic activity to Tasmania, the establishment of our site formerly known as the Hobart Zinc Works and the Hydro Electric Power Metallurgical Company paved the way for power roll out in Tasmania.
The strong relationship the smelter has with the community has been forged over many years and continues today through community meetings, sponsorships and partnerships as well as being an active participant in the community.
The Royal Automobile Club of Tasmania was established in 1923 to represent the interests of Tasmanian motorists. RACT is a member organisation which means we’re here to benefit our members. We aim to deliver an experience that is highly valued, through our service delivery and the creation of benefits that reward loyalty.
Whether it’s Insurance, Roadside, Travel or Lifestyle, we have a range of products available that can be tailored to suit all Tasmanians. When becoming a member with RACT, you will receive exclusive discounts with over 100 businesses statewide and thousands more across Australia and internationally. We add value through delivery of a range of additional member benefits, from free technical advice to our bi-monthly member magazine – Journeys – you’ll soon find that becoming a member of RACT brings with it a range of benefits that you’ll enjoy.
As the state’s peak motoring authority we speak up for our members on a range of issues – whether its motoring related, or now as we expand into the Tasmanian tourism arena – on regional tourism matters as well
